oil tank testing

Oil Tank Testing Service

Property owners with known underground storage tanks or even newly discovered ones may wish to know in advance of a future tank removal if they have a leaking oil tank on their hands. Marksmen Enterprises, LLC can assist those needs and conduct oil tank testing by sampling the surrounding soil.

Soil testing begins by Marksmen Enterprises, LLC installing small, 2-inch diameter borings around the tank and collecting soil samples. The samples are then screened for possible contamination using a Photo Ionization Detector or PID right at the property. Samples with the highest potential for contamination based on the PID screening are then delivered to a New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection Certified Laboratory for analysis of EPH to determine the presence or absence of contamination and its detected concentrations relative to State Standards. This crucial data determines whether an oil tank leak has occurred and the possible severity. A detailed letter report is then prepared by Marksmen Enterprises, LLC., explaining the results in simple, no nonsense language for site owner review.

Marksmen Enterprises, LLC frowns greatly on a pressure test for checking the integrity of any oil tank, whether that tank is in use or newly found. Applying pressure to the tank can actually create a leak! Don’t do it!

Our reliable staff is always available to answer any questions or address any grant, funding, insurance or NJDEP concern.

Extremely professional & knowledgeable staff. They left the site just as they found it. They kept me in the loop about permits and pick up! Hands down best customer service, Debbie was great! I would recommend them to anyone!
